About us
Our parish is part of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain, under the pastoral care of His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas and within the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. Rooted in the rich traditions of the Orthodox faith, we are a welcoming community that brings together people from all Orthodox backgrounds, as well as those who are simply curious to learn more about our faith.
Our congregation brings together Orthodox Christians from a wide variety of backgrounds, as well as those discovering the faith for the first time. Together, we form a welcoming community, united in our faith in Christ and the rich spiritual life of the Orthodox Church.
Led by the Archimandrite Methodios and assisted by Father Stephen, our church is a vibrant place of worship that brings together Orthodox Christians of all backgrounds. Our congregation warmly welcomes everyone into our community wherever they are from and thrives on fostering a sense of belonging and togetherness; we believe faith is a journey best taken alongside friends.
Welcome to Saint Nectarios Orthodox Church in the heart of Battersea - we're so glad you found us!
Here you will find a bustling hub alive with activities, events, and gatherings that will inspire and uplift your spirit. Our Sunday services are conducted in English and Greek, with scripture readings in both languages and a sermon preached in English as well as prayers in various languages reflecting the diversity of our community. Saturday morning Liturgies are generally conducted in English from around 09:45am.
Every Tuesday evening from 7pm we hold a Supplication service to St Nectarios or to the Mother of God, followed by a spiritual talk - sometimes also captured on our Spotify podcast here (Apple podcast here) for those unable to make it on the night.
Whether you're a long-time believer or just curious about Orthodoxy, you'll find our doors open wide and a loving and accepting atmosphere inside.
We would love you to come along and explore the depths of Orthodox Christianity, its traditions, teachings and history. We hold catechism classes (introductions to the faith) several times a year, come along and speak to one of the priests for more information. Join us, and let's embark on a fulfilling spiritual adventure together.
